Hi,
I'm working under the 18d permit in Germany with a 3-year contract, which will end on 31/10/2024. However, the project I'm working on lasts till the end of May 2025. Therefore, my supervisor will extend my contract for six months. I have two questions:
- Given that my visa expires on 31/10/2024, with a new contract of only six months, can I extend my 18d permit for such a short-term contract?
- Given that I'm working part-time (66% paid of full position) under the 18d work permit, am I eligible for a 'job-seeking' visa after the end of my research contract as a benefit of the 18d permit holder?
Hi Yara, thank you for the information. Regarding your question, my research program is not a multilateral program. I'm hired as a research assistant to pursue my PhD degree!
Hi phuonght, thanks for the information, you should be able to prolong the visa. Let us know if you were able to prolong your visa until the end of your research.
Best wishes
