Dear hsiddiqi, thank you for your question. The requirements of what your colleague needs to submit depends on what type of visa he/she will be sponsoring. i.e. long term or short term visa. You can find more information here: https://handbookgermany.de/en/rights-laws/declaration-of-commitment-nat…

In general, your colleague, has to make an appointment at their local immigration office (Ausländerbehörde) and prove that they are able to afford sponsoring you. Once they have handed in all the paper work the immigration office will give them the deceleration of commitment (Verpflichtungserklärung). Then they have to send you this document. You then have to make an appointment with the German embassy in a neighboring country of Afghanistan. There you present this document and any other needed documents for the visa. The embassy then decides if you will receive a visa.
What other documents you need to bring to the appointment at the embassy depends on the type of visa you would like to receive. If you could let me know what type of visa your colleague will sponsor, I can give you a more details on the requirements.

As you know better, the security situation is very bad here in Afghanistan. My colleague who is German wants to recommend or sponsor me for the resettlement in Germany. she is interested to help and recommend me to the German government as they can add us in their evacuations list.

Dear hsiddiqi, thank you for the information. Yes, the situation in Afghanistan has become very dangerous. Your colleague should contact the foreign ministry and the interior ministry if she/he wants to advocate for your case. They can also contact Kabul Luftbrücke, a German NGO. However, to our knowledge, Germany is currently not adding any more people to the list of particular threatened persons. The other option for your colleague to support you- is by applying for a deceleration of commitment.
