I came here in DE last Feb 2023 and just passed my B2 Pflege last month which is one of the requirements before attending my Anerkennung in Krankenpfleger. My Residence Permit will expire on Dec 2024, and my work contract will end on February 2025. I would like to work in another hospital and start my Anerkennung there. But my concern is, will my Visa still be extended even though I stayed here for 2yrs already and still not on the process of Anerkennung?

batmanne06 Congratulations on your B2 exam and thank you for your reply. First, if you are planning to change hospitals, make sure you have a job offer or contract from the new hospital. I am not sure if you need a confirmation from the Bundesagentur für Arbeit (BA) that you can do your recognition at the new hospital. Please contact the Bundesagentur für Arbeit (BA): https://www.make-it-in-germany.com/en/visa-residence/types/recognition and make an appointment with the Ausländerbehörde before your residence permit expires. You will normally be granted a residence permit for up to 24 months. This permit can be extended for a further 12 months if, for example, you have to retake an exam or if there is a delay in the issue of your certificate: https://www.gesetze-im-internet.de/aufenthg_2004/__16d.html If you have any further questions, please let us know.
