Good day,

i Hope you guys are doing well, I have few question, I’m recognised refugee here in Germany, I applied for family reunion  April 2022 after waiting 21 months we received appointments date. I was applied for family reunion visa for my wife,2 children, my mother and my brother. My father was martyred in Afghanistan year 2021. Is there a possibility to receive a family reunion visa for my mother and my brother?

and my second question is my mother id card has written her hometown suppose (a) and in my and my brother I’d card hometown was written suppose (b). Does embassy will understand this things because in Afghanistan children I’d card is issuing on the basis of his/her father I’d card.

And my 3rd and last question is, after submitting application and all related documents how much time it take for embassy to make decisions?

Thanks in advance

Regards

Abdul

Hello najamuddinabdul, thank you for asking your question on our platform. Congratulations first of all for finally receiving the appointment.
Usually, family reunion visas are only given to the immediate family. Germany defines the immediate family as your underage children and your spouse. So unfortunately, your brother and your mother are not considered immediate family and will likely not receive a visa.
We also provide some further information on the family reunion process here: https://handbookgermany.de/en/family-reunification
There are so called hardship rules however, for this you will need to contact a lawyer and see if this hardship clause could apply to your brother and mother.

Regarding your second question I am unfortunately, not able to answer it because I am not able to see the application you submitted. For your final question, if you have handed in all the right documents then the decision making can be around 3 months until a decision is made. This is a rough estimate and it depends at what embassy you have applied for the visa and how much work they have.
I hope I was able to answer your questions. Please let me know if you have any follow up questions.
I wish that you can soon reunite with your family in Germany.
Best wishes.
