I have recently got my positive response from BAMF in Leipzig city. As I have my wife and children in Afghanistan, I filled the "Timely Notification" online which is supposed to be filled within three months of the BAMF response. Now, I don't know where should I submit this "Timely Notification". Is it necessary to be submitted to Ausländerbehörde? If yes, how should we take appointment? Please help me in this regard, I would be very thankful for you.

If you have received refugee status or asylum protection then you can benefit from the so called “privileged family reunification” when you apply within three months. If you have received subsidiary protection or ban on deportation this unfortunately, does not apply to you.

Your family now needs to make an appointment at their local German embassy. They will need to book the appointment via the German embassy website in Kabul. Unless they have legally resided in Tehran for 6months or more, then they can apply via the Iranian embassies’ website

Please note that family reunification for Afghans can take up to 2 years or even longer so patience is unfortunately needed. It is very important that you seek out a migration advice centre that can help you with the application process as soon as possible.
