I am a blue card holder staying in Germany with my wife (Dependent Visa). At present my wife is pregnant and would like to invite her parents to germany on a Schegnen Visa. I applied for verpflichtungserklärung and received it.

Now my question is, Is it mandatory to submit original verpflichtungserklärung during visa interview in India or can my in-laws submit a scanned copy of this verpflichtungserklärung?

Thank You, REgards

Hallo akhilesh , How are you doing? What about your Niederlassungserlabnis and your B1 certificate? Have you pass it? When applying for a Schengen visa, it is generally necessary to present the original of the Verpflichtungserklärung during the visa interview. Most consulates and embassies insist on seeing the original document to ensure authenticity and prevent possible fraud: https://india.diplo.de/blob/2579852/962be0bd10d01e95eb271020b5c485c7/vi… I look forward to hearing from you.
