1- It says that medical care costs will be provided. Normally when the student starts studying, the insurance covers costs. Is it different with the commitment?
"With a declaration of commitment, you assume all costs that the German state could incur from the visitor in question, including:
- Cost of living (food, clothing, etc.)
- Cost of accommodation
- Cost of medical care
- Cost of a possible deportation"

My residence permit ends in 2026. Does it mean I cannot commit?
Hi md , Thank you for contacting us. You are right, public health insurance in Germany usually covers most medical expenses for students. However, with a Declaration of Commitment, the situation changes. You, as the guarantor, will be financially responsible for all of your sister's medical expenses until she obtains her own health insurance. But the information from Munich and our website is correct.
