Personal interview

Hassan • 5 February 2024

Hi all,

My name is Hassan from Afghanistan. I have recently had a personal interview ( refugee). During the interview I presented my documents such as my ID cards ( employment) contracts and emails related to my employment in Afghanistan however the officer said it was not required. What should I do now ? Should I send it by post and ask to attach it to my file or let it go as it is ?

Hi Hassan , thank you for reaching out to us. It is very important in general that one prepares well for the asylum interview. There are many resources available including in Farsi/Dari that explains and prepares one for the interview with BAMF.
Please see the link and choose the language you would like to receive the information in. https://www.asyl.net/view/information-zur-anhoerung-im-asylverfahren
Did you already receive a copy of the transcript? You should normally receive this a few weeks after the interview. If you have hired a lawyer the transcript will be sent to them. If you notice any mistakes and you don’t have a lawyer then please seek asylum procedure counseling as soon as possible.
I would encourage you to seek out counseling in general and to discuss with them if you can send in the additional information and the next steps. You can find a counseling center near you using the BAMF Navi: https://bamf-navi.bamf.de/en/Themen/Migrationsberatung/
in Berlin you can also contact the BBZ: https://www.bbzberlin.de/fa/portfolio/gutberatengutankommen/
Finally we also have more information on the asylum procedure and what happens after the interview here: https://handbookgermany.de/en/asylum-procedure
Best wishes Barbara and Yara
