Hello Dear TiG Co-ordinators,
I am in a difficult situation, and was was badly hoping to get some advise from here...
I came to Germany to pursue my masters in a science and research related field. However after spending some time in this industry I found that I am not liking it at all :(
I have some previous work experience in IT, and I would very much like to return to the Tech Industry.
I have already made numerous job applications, however I have not recieved any positive news. I strongly feel this is due to me been away from the work force for a few years.
My financial condition is currently quite weak, so I really need a job soon. I have tried many different ideas, but nothing has worked out till now. I am hence writing in this forum, hoping to receive some counselling. Your help will be much appreciated!!
Thank you in advance.
Best Regards,
Pradeepta
Hi My!!
Thank you very much for writing back to me :)
Yes, I am already searching using the regular job search platforms, but thank you for suggesting the specialized ones. I will start searching on those ones too.
I have been actually a little scared of approaching the job centre as my German is a little weak. However, I will give it try.
Thank you again for all your suggestions!!
Have a good day!!
Bye
Hello Pradeepta
Happy to help! My fingers are crossed that you will find something suitable for you soon!
If you tell me the city you are currently live in, I might can find another job counselling organization than the federal employment agency for you. For example in Berlin there is Beratung, Bildung & Beruf. They also offer counselling in different languages.
Please get back to me, if you need any support. Wish you all the best!
Hi My,
Thank you very much for your encouragement :)
I live in a small town called Freiberg in Saxony.
Dear Pradeepta I am very glad if I can help.
I tried to find some counselling other than the federal employment agency but it seems to be a challenge. If you insecure to speak to them personally, I found their job posting portal. You can enter your preferred work field to get results about open positions around your area.
I hope you will find something that suits you soon! Fingers crossed.
Happy if you let me know how everything turns out for you or if you have further questions.
Thank you so much!! I will definitely check this job portal out!!
Thank you very much for all your efforts :) :) :)
And I will also keep you posted on my progress :)
Hi My!!
I wanted to inform you that today I suddenly came across a Facebook group, which is also about finding jobs in English language. So, apart from all your suggested groups, I have also joined this Facebook group :)
Now, I have quite a few sources, I'm hopeful that something might come up now ?
Very happy to hear that, Pradeepta
My fingers are crossed! If you have any further questions, please let me know.
Hi My,
Thank you so much for your encouragement!!
Hi My,
I am actually facing another serious situation. I didn't ask you before because I was a little ashamed. But after talking to quite a few sources no solution has came up. That's why I thought of also asking you...
I had a big fight in my WG 2 weeks ago, and as a result, on the last day of June, I left my WG. And for the last 11 days I have been living in a 'Pensione'. Now the check-out date has arrived, and I still haven't found an alternative place to live...
Dear Pradeepta I am very sorry to hear!
I assumed you already tried through the website WG-Gesucht?
Additionally, sometimes there are postings on a website/app, called "Kleinanzeigen". Private people can offer different items, support, flats, rooms, etc.
If you need financial support for rent and are eligible for support by jobcenter, you can reach out to them as well.
Lastly, there is also a counseling center for homeless people and people threatened by homelessness by Diakonie in your area. You can reach out to them for counselling: https://www.diakonie-freiberg.de/beratungsstellen/wohnungsnotfallhilfe/…
My fingers crossed that you will find something soon! Please let me know if you have further questions.
Thank you so much!! I will try the diakonie!!
Dear Sir/Madam,
Hope you are fine and doing well. With great respect, it is stated that I am an Agricultural Engineer having worked as Irrigation and Field Engineer for different projects. I have been living here as a Refugee in Bremen City . I tried a lot to find a befitting job for myself being an English speaking professional but in vain here in Bremen. Could you please let me know how to find a job in corelation with my academic and professional career.
I have been struggling with German Language just in to the B1 Level now.
Dear Hikmat-Azizi, thank you for comment. That's great that you have already started learning German at the B1 level.
We also have some useful information if you are struggling to learn German maybe an exchange or tandem would be helpful. https://handbookgermany.de/en/learning-german
Regarding finding a profession in your field I will do some more research and get back to you as soon as I can.
Best wishes.
