Rafaela • 28 November 2023

Hello Yara!

I hsve 20 years of experience work in accountant and project management. I live in Germany from more than 15 months now with my son and my EU citizen, but not German husbant.

I'm struggling to find a job because I speak A2 level Dutch. I need a job asap. I spend all my savings waiting for the resident permission, which agains the low was given to me after 13 months.

Now I have a 5 years resident pension but I can't find work. Everyone I know is telling me that I have to know the right peoples to get me a job by recommendation.

I'm registered for a Dutchkurs wich strar at January but I don't have any money to pay my utilities. I can't apply for social benefits because I want to apply for Dutch citizenship after 4 years.

Can you help me please to find a job? It's ok for me even as a part time job in an assistant role. Just to get a job.

Best regards!

Hello Rafaela, thank you for reaching out to us. I am sorry to hear that it took so long for your residency permit to arrive
Unfortunately, we cannot find a job for you. We can guide you to different platforms where you can hopefully find a suitable job. We have listed online and offline platforms where you can search for a job: https://handbookgermany.de/en/jobsearch-and-application#faq_108
You mentioned you do not want to apply for social benefits because you want to apply for German citizenship. We have also listed the requirements for receiving German citizenship here: https://handbookgermany.de/en/citizenship#faq_145
You are not entitled to or receive any benefits from the JobCentre or the Social Welfare Office. Sometimes the Job Center can even help you find a job.

Best of luck with your job hunt. I am always happy about further questions or feedback.
Best wishes
