Inquiry Regarding Integration Course Admission and Visa Process

MKS Fernando • 20 February 2024

Hallo! I am a Sri Lankan student studying in Latvia I got graduated recently. Currently I am in trossingen germany and about ro enrole a intergration course.

I have a few questions regarding the admission process and visa requirements for the integration course offered by VHS:

1. Upon receiving the admission documents from VHS, could you please outline the process for obtaining the visa?

2. Once I have the visa, how long am I permitted to stay in Germany?

3. Are there any restrictions or permissions regarding employment with this visa?

4. Will the visa I obtain also grant me access to other Schengen countries?

5. Regarding the financial aspect, the cost for one module is €458. As a low-income earner, is there a possibility to reduce this amount or are there any financial assistance options available?

I would greatly appreciate your assistance in clarifying these inquiries to ensure a smooth transition into the integration course and life in Germany. Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Best regards,
Saranga Fernando.

Hello MKS Fernando, thank you for reaching out to us. I noticed you already posted a couple of questions on our forum. Were the answers you received useful?
.
I was wondering what your current residency in Germany is. Are you in Germany on a short-term Schengen Visa? You mentioned that you have recently graduated from Latvia and are now in Trossing in Germany.
I am asking this because whether or not you can enrol into an integration course depends on your current status in Germany. You can find out if your residency allows you to take part in an integration course or not: https://handbookgermany.de/en/german-courses#faq_1196
.
Could you also let me know what type of visa/ residency you want to apply for?
.
Regarding your questions about the costs, if you are receiving money from the Social office or the jobcentre then the costs will be covered for you. However, whether or not you can receive financial help also depends on the residency you currently have. If you are obliged to take an integration course, you can get some of the costs covered.

Best wishes
