I have been living in Germany since Feb 2022. I had dependant visa then. Started working by Jun 2022, but continued on dependant visa. By month May 2024 changed to Blue Card.
I have A1 certification of German language.
How long will it take me to apply for PR?
I know that with Blue Card and A1, I could apply for it in 33 months, and now it may even reduced to 27 months.
But since I already contributed to pension fund since Jun 2022 (23 months now), and just changed to Blue Card now, will that duration take into consideration? Or still I have to complete 33 (or 27 which ever the new rule) months with the Blue Card alone by just having A1?
Thanks for your consideration, in advance.
Thank you Barbara.
So what I understand is I could apply for permenant visa in 4 to 5 months (since I am working from Jun 2022 on my dependant visa and contributed to pension fund and now on blue card).
So once I finish 27 months of contribution towards pension and at the time of finishing the 27th month I am holding an EU Blue Card and also having A1 certification, I can apply for PR.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

cj Hallo, It took a little while, but I found out that the most important thing is how long you have been paying into the pension insurance. The months you paid into the pension insurance are counted, no matter what title you had during that time. Best wishes Barbara
