Gas Consumption bill is extremely high

Hi 

however, i understand the Gas prices are high due to the recent situation. But what we can do itlf an extra ordinary bill comes from the compnay(in my case enercity)? 
i discused with energy provider and the landlord but none of then giving me a solution to get ride of that bill. Where we can go to find a solution for such problems ?

Dear Sulaiman_Hotaki thank you for sharing your difficult situation. Unfortunately, there are many struggling with the increasing costs.
Did I understand you correct, that it is difficult for you to pay the end-of-year bill from your energy provider? Or did you mean the advance monthly payments? Is you energy provider also your gas provider?
As you already tried to discuss this with your energy provider, you can additionally reach out to a consumer advice counselling center. Furthermore, the Jobcenter or Social Welfare Office can take over what you owe to your electricity provider in case you do not receive child allowance, housing benefit or BAföG. You can apply via e-mail. Please note, that you need to apply for support in the month you need to pay the bill. You can find more information on Handbook Germany.

Let me give you some more details, so can give me a good advice accordingly.
I am student and receiving DAAD scholarship for my studies along with that I also receive kindergeld and wohengeld since the scholarship is not enough for daily life in Germany. I am living with my wife and daughter in Germany. We moved to Hannover city on 15 November and rented an apartment here. Once we sign contract with the enercity company it was 228 euros per month (which is very high) and they told me it is because it is winter and the prices are high. Now, I received a bill on 7 august that I have overused the gas (the bill is 712 euros) however I was very careful of that. In addition, they are saying you use much more gas. Thus, they will increase after this the monthly energy price to 270 euros per month!

However, I had an appointment with the company and discussed the issue, but they stay on their claim and saying it is based on the meter reading.
Now, I don’t know how to pay this enormous amount and from whom should I get some help since I don’t have a good income and this will push me in a very unusual situation.

I am sorry for all the confusion and the difficult situation you are in. Unfortunately, there are many households that are struggling because of the increasing costs due to the current situation. Especially, last year, the prices for gas and energy have risen enormously, which is why the annual reports came as a shock to many people.
To be sure, that you haven't used more that last year, you can compare the new and the last bill. Indeed you should take into account that you moved in in winter which explains a higher usage.
It is recommendable to reach out to a consumer advice counselling center. They will check the invoices with you and can guide you where you can get more support.
