Hello, I'm a 29 year old turkish citizen who moved to Germany in August 2019 to attend university. After my master's degree I got an 18 month permit to look for a skilled job.
This visa will expire on july 22nd. Unfortunately, I didn't find a skilled job during this period, only a general job, and the immigration office told me that I can't get a resident permit with this kind of job. I have also applied for some PhDs but i haven't heard back yet.
Now, I would like to know if is there any possibility to stay in Germany with some other kind of visa or am I force to go back to Turkey?
If I go back to my country, can I apply for the other types of visas such as opportunity card or study visa, if I am admitted to a PhD program, or will it take some time before I can apply again?

It is important that the job you are offered is a qualified position. This means that you usually need a degree to do the job. They may have resources or advice on extending your visa status in relation to your PhD applications. Of course, If you receive an acceptance letter, you can apply for a student visa to continue your doctoral studies. For an Opportunity Card you can apply at the immigration office.
