I am an Australian citizen, I currently have a temporary residency permit valid until 09.2025. I submitted my application for Daueraufenthalt EU permit 1 month ago and am awaiting a response. My plan for the future is to have a baby via a donor (as a single parent). My question is: which, if any, payments would I be able to apply for as a parent without invalidating my residency permit? Would I be able to apply for Elterngeld, Kindergeld, Kinderzuschlag, Wohngeld etc? Or does this contradict the conditions of my residency permit? My current permit states “Erlischt mit Bezug von Leistungen nach dem SGB II oder SGB XII bzw. Asylblg”. Would it be better to wait until I have a permanent residence permit before pregnancy? Which payments would be allowed with a permanent permit?

The EU permanent residence is a form of permanent residence that allows one to travel and work in other EU countries. This is not possible with the regular permanent residence.

With a EU permanent residence you can receive Bürgergeld, Elterngeld and Kindergeld and other social benefits. You can also receive Elterngeld if you have a residence that allows you to work in Germany for more then 6months and you are not a student, Au pair, on a job searching residence or on a volunteer year.

Whether or not one can receive for example Bürgergeld depends on how long one has been in Germany and on ones residence title. You mentioned you are applying for the Daueraufenthalt EU, with this title and having lived in Germany for 5 years you should have access to the social benefits.
