I'm an Afghan woman who months ago received a confirmation email from the German Secretariat based in Islamabad accepting my application for the resettlement program for Afghans in danger post-Taliban takeover. So, We have been hearing about some unfortunate incidences happening in Germany where some Afghans have been arrested for some crimes including in 2 cases in which Afghans had killed and injured a Policeman and some other civilians. Now we are reading some other reports in papers that the German government has decided to deport Afghans who are believed to be a potential threat to society. So now, are these unfortunate incidents going to impact our case? If suppose, the German government decides to terminate this resettlement program, those selectees, like myself who have already been selected and invited to Islamabad, are also going to be affected and their case be terminated or what? Are they going to be safe? Can you please briefly explain and assure us that we or our general case will not be in trouble? Because we've waited so long and we can't afford hearing a bad news of this magnitude.

Hi Sumaia123 ,

thank you for your question. We’re very sorry that you’ve been waiting so long for the admission process and dealing with the uncertainty. And yes, we have also been observing the current development of the federal admission program of Germany. Unfortunately, we are not part of the official program and cannot give you more information about how it will further develop. As soon as we have concrete information, it will be updated on this page: https://handbookgermany.de/fa/afghanistan-info

Best wishes
