Hello, thank you for providing this service to us people who demand protection.

I want to start the Ausbildung process. Is there a special exam I need to take to prove that I have B1 level German knowledge? Or is there a special institution I should go to? Or can I apply for any German course offering services in the city I live in?

Hello samik35 , thank you for contacting us. If you are a refugee, whether you can start dual vocational training depends on the type of residence permit you hold. If you have a residence permit as an individual entitled to asylum, refugee status or subsidiary protection, you may start dual vocational training without any restrictions: https://handbookgermany.de/en/vocational-training-dual#faq_994  You must be able to speak German, as the language of school programmes and everyday communication in the companies is German. Furthermore, the exams you are expected to pass to complete the programmes are given in German. The level of German proficiency required depends on the type of vocational training you've chosen: https://handbookgermany.de/en/vocational-training-dual#faq_993 Please ask the company, where you want to do your Ausbildung, what kind of language certificate you need. Here you can find information about learning German: https://handbookgermany.de/en/learning-german Please, let us know if you have any further questions, after reading the links. You are also welcome to ask for advice in the forum, e.g. you can see if others have had similar questions or topics and you can write your questions underneath + tag the person (with @) , maybe someone has practical experience with the subject. Hallo samik35 , If you want to do the Ausbildung at the company where you work, ask them if you can do it in English, and if not, what kind of German certificate you need. If you have any further questions, let us know. Best Barbara
