Dear Respected Sir/Madam,

I hope you are fine and doing well.

With due respect,  as you know better the current security situation in Afghanistan that the number of threats, target killings, kidnapping, and torturing of those people who have been working with international partners including government and non-government funded organizations, institutions, and donors is extremely at the peak level. It is increasing day by day!
We are counting every moment when our torture and killings turn will arrive, we are not safe.
The current security situation in Afghanistan is getting worse day by day, everyone around us knows that we have been working for a long time with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.

We have applied for the  GIZ-OKV visa issuing program for Afghans, who worked with German Funded projects in Afghanistan. Unfortunately, we received a negative response from them and the reasons were not explained to each applicant. While, the OKV and BAMF authorities emphasized contacting your former Project Director, but with several attempts we could not succeed in receiving a response from him.

The List of our colleagues has received a negative response from OKV:

1- Noorullah H
2- Wahidullah K
3- Najibullah A
4- M. Nasim H
5- Nasratulla H
6- Mohammad A
7- Najibullah D
8- Nazir H
9- Abdul Satar A
10- Matiullah A
11- Abdul M
12- Ahmad Jan
13- Zainullah
14- Sardar Wali Us
15- Mohammad Zahir M
16- Tooyalai

All the above-mentioned staff are extremely under pressure and can not suffer the cruelty and horror that is going on and increasing day by day.

Below listed the colleagues received threats:

1-      Sardar Wali U was arrested and beaten by the Taliban in Uruzgan Province, Afghanistan.

2-      Nasratullah H, arrested and beaten by the Taliban in Uruzgan Province, Afghanistan.

3-      Abdul M was recently arrested and beaten by the Taliban in Uruzgan Province, Afghanistan.

4-      Mohammad Zahir M was arrested during house searches  by the Taliban in Kabul, Afghanistan.

5-      Nazir H was arrested  by the Taliban in Jalalabad, Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan.

Below listed colleagues are already evacuated:

1-     Wafi W
2-   Abdul Qoudos S
3-   Abdul Wakil H
4-   Nasir M
5-   Akmal A
6-   Baheer S
7-  Moqim afghan

In the last one and half years, the following GIZ-Staff in Uruzgan Province have been killed by the Taliban due to their employment by GIZ:

1- Pashtoon, Generator Technician was killed by the Taliban in a Public area.
2- Hayatullah, Cook was  Killed by the Taliban in a Public area.
3- Mohammad Zada, Guard was Killed by the Taliban after he was recognized he worked for GIZ.
4- Abdul Karim, the Guard, was Killed by the Taliban at one of the checkpoints when he was recognized he worked for GIZ.
And the decision of the OKV  is not acceptable to all of us, as we have worked for a long time with GIZ, we request all parties reconsider our applications and contact our employer in Germany for confirmation of our employment.

Therefore, We all together kindly request the responsible authority to support and facilitate the process of our evacuation from Afghanistan.
Your humanitarian support and cooperation will be highly appreciated!

Looking forward to hearing from you soon with a positive response.

With Best,
GIZ-Uruzgan Staffs

Hello @@mzmajeed,

First of all I am very sorry for the situation you and your colleuges are in. Many German Organizations have taken responsibility for many of their workers which is shameful.
We are aware of the dire situation in Afghanistan especially for those who have worked for foreign employers, often it is a life-or-death situation. I am sorry to tell you that we as a community and information platform can not help you in overturning the negative response from the GIZ.
I can recommend that you document very carefully all the steps you have tried in order to contact your project director with no response as well as threats you have received.
I can also refer you to our information site where you can try to reach out to NGO’s and see if you can or might be eligible for the new admission program. Or also contact a lawyer in Germany who can help you further. Often this can be useful but is costly.

Please check our information page: https://handbookgermany.de/fa/afghanistan-info

If you have any further questions, please write us here.

Best wishes
Yara
